It’s not even the middle of November and we’ve got half a foot of snow on the ground. When I realized there was no way I would be making it to work today, I was worried about the things I would miss.
The emails I could not answer. The presentations I couldn’t prep. The book chapters I would not get to write. There are never enough hours at the office, and missing a full day always makes me feel a week more behind.
What I didn’t think about was the things I would get. Big smiles. Bigger laughs. Cuddles. Snowmen. Homemade cookies. Time together.
Tonight, I’m grateful for this day. Those emails can wait. These memories can’t.
